Paul Volcker, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve System, is praised for taming inflation. Yet, Volcker allowed Members of the Board of the Federal Reserve to pass information on interest rate movements to Drexel Burnham and to Bear Stearns. Volcker also allowed money laundering via Merrrill Lynch’s Zurich offices and manipulation of the XMI, a stock index, and front running of the XMI, via the Zurich Offices of Merrill Lynch. More importantly, Volcker allowed Richard Monderine, an Executive at the American Stock Exchange, to rape his African-American subordinates. Volcker also allowed Edwin Crooks, Louis Miceli, and Robert VanCaneghan to smuggle drugs via their ocean-going fishing boats and to launder drug money from the Cayman Islands via their specialist trading accounts.
